Why choose Meditex for the production of medical equipment?

In the course of almost 30 years since its establishment Meditex has grown from a small family business into a company that employs more than 120 people and is now one of the largest manufacturing and distributing companies for medical disposables and protective clothing from non-woven fabrics in Croatia.

It is important to note that from the very beginning we have put emphasis on the quality of our products and on building a trusting relationship with hospitals, privately–owned polyclinics, pharmaceutical industry and distributors with whom we most often have fruitful cooperation. We carry out the entire production and distribution process independently and this enables us to be flexible. Meditex logistics

Nowadays our business premises comprise almost 4,000 square metres, which is a result of multiannual expansion of business operations and company growth. Production and warehouse facilities as well as company management are situated in the same town, a fact which greatly facilitates the logistics of business operations and contributes to promptitude and efficacy of business processes. Gradual expansion of production facilities and warehouse is considered to be an indicator of a company’s healthy growth and development.

 

In addition to expanding and improving our production facilities, we also invest in our employees’ education and in implementing new technologies and modernization of our business operations. What type of medical equipment we manufacture?

Our primary activity is supply of equipment to healthcare providers (hospitals, polyclinics, health centres) but we also offer products used in catering industry and other industries. The highest production standards are endorsed by ISO standards of quality and they guarantee product quality and production that conform to the standards and requirements proscribed by legal bodies of the European Union.

To explain the production processes, we present an overview of some of our groups of products, starting with disposable medical equipment and protective clothing that come either in sterile or non-sterile variants.  You can find the detailed offer of our products in our product catalogue. Non-sterile products are used daily for the protection of persons and work surfaces and for personal hygiene. The following table shows our most commonly used non-sterile products.

Sterile products are used during medical procedures that require aseptic work conditions. These products are manufactured in strictly controlled conditions, i.e. in the “clean room”, where there are strictly proscribed conditions (specific temperature, ventilation, entering the room in special protective equipment) to meet the requirements of manufacturing such products.

Production processes

Production process is carried out in our 900 m2 production facility in Zabok.

Materials we use come in bales which are cut into even pieces on a special assembly line. After that, a bundle of several dozens of such sheets is tailored according to a marker of the product that needs to be made. All markers are the result of work of our production and development department and we have developed more than 5,000 products in accordance with our clients' requirements. After the marking process, the semi-finished products are dispatched to production facilities for further processing (sewing, arranging, packing) and in the end they come out of the production facilities as finished products packed in boxes.

After the production process the products are sterilized by ethylene oxide (EO) and ready for use. The sterilization process is challenging and requires additional planning since there are no sterilization facilities in Croatia adequate for our needs and therefore the sterilization process in conducted abroad.

Origin of materials and raw materials

We purchase materials and raw materials we need for production from our reliable suppliers who meet the required quality standards and who provide us with the raw materials in accordance with our agreement. Such materials and raw materials include various types of non-woven fabric, for example vlies (polypropylene), meditect (SMS), medilam SBPP (LDPE foil + PP), medilam viscose (LDPE foil + viscose), airlaid (cellulose + latex binder) etc. When choosing our suppliers, criteria we adhere to are high quality standards and proximity and therefore most of our suppliers are located in Croatia and in the European Union. Exception are the materials that are not produced in the above mentioned regions and have to be imported from other countries (Asia and North America).

Distribution and delivery

Since we conduct our business operations on the market of entire Croatia, we are able to distribute our products both independently and through our subcontractors i.e. pharmaceutical wholesalers. Pharmaceutical wholesalers, with branch offices throughout Croatia (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek) deliver our products daily to numerous customers. Thus we have ensured simple and prompt deliverty throughout the country. We independently deliver orders for more than 800 customers in greater Zagreb area.

We are commited to prompt answering to your inquiries and thus the period from receipt of an order to its delivery to you or to a pharmaceutical wholesaler does not exceed two business days, with the exception of large orders or orders of new sterile items since such items need to be sterilized and this process lasts 10 to 14 days.

High dedication to customers' needs

Due to the pandemic and disruptions in the supply chains, products that are not safe for use have appeared on the market, but thanks to the local production and supply chain Meditex has maintained its high level of quality and hence preserved the customer confidence. Despite problems that had occurred worldwide, we have continued to deliver our products on a regular basis. This indicates that regardless of the circumstances, we are committed to adjust to your needs and requirements and therefore we are paying special attention to prompt delivery and check of stock, sample orders and manufacture of special products.

Our products are a result of our orientation on customers and on adjusting to their needs and since we control the overall production process, we are able to manufacture products in accordance with the changing needs of the market. Our flexibility also manifests itself in the design of small batches of products.

We communicate with our customers through our sales representatives, who meet with the customers regularly, giving them the latest news regarding the equipment and products, and who represent a reliable intermediary between customers and production.
